What an amazing renovation where the kitchen becomes the heart of this family home.
The clients requested that their new kitchen be spacious while exuding charm & warmth,
for the kitchen to appear like furniture and feature state of the art appliances. The
clients dreamed of their kitchen being the entertainig space where family and friends
gather and kids can participate in the culinary delights happening in the kitchen.
The designers suggested relocating the kitchen to another area of the house, which
expanded the square footage to three times its original size. Then, the challenge was to
eliminate the exposed structural columns that restricted the design of the new kitchen
space. After consulting with an engineer, the designers determined it was possible to
hide the support beams in the ceiling allowing an open floor plan.
The hot zones of this gourmet kitchen are equipped by Wolf: a 48" range, steamer,
convection microwave and warming drawer. The cool zones are fabulously dressed with
wood overlay panels that match the cabinetry and conceal Sub-Zero equipment: a pair of
601's, wine storage, icemaker and refrigerator drawers. This kitchen truly is the heart of
the Home.
